A Chic Beach Wedding in Punta Cana

It was love at first sight for these two Mississauga natives. They spotted each other across a crowded room over ten years ago and have been inseparable ever since.

After a weekend away in New York state for a family wedding, Victoria and Johnny went off for their own rendezvous in New York City. Johnny had an entire romantic visit planned – the pair began their afternoon in the city with a horse and carriage ride in Central Park, followed by a scenic stroll to find the perfect picnic spot. “At this time we had been together for seven years so I somewhat had an idea of what was going on, I just didn't know exactly when it would happen so I was definitely on my toes the whole trip! We were enjoying our little picnic and when I went to get something out of the basket, Johnny got on one knee, pulled the box out of his jacket and popped the question!” explains Victoria.

Johnny comes from a big Italian family and the two had been to their fair share of weddings, so they opted for a different approach, choosing an intimate destination wedding with their closet friends and family. “We love the beach and ocean and knew that Punta Cana would be the perfect option for us,” says Victoria. One of their favourite details was the ‘smash book’ they had in lieu of a traditional guest book. “We has different stickers made with quotes and designs we like. It ended up being a wedding scrapbook filled with stories and memories that will last a lifetime,” says Victoria.
