A Woodsy Winter Wedding In Cambridge, Ontario
Ian and Cheryl first met in high school and quickly became friends. After going to different universities, the two lost touch but they reconnected once Cheryl moved back to their hometown after graduation. "We decided to go for a bike ride to catch up, and the rest is history," Cheryl says with a smile.
After Ian proposed, Cheryl immediately envisioned a winter wedding at a gorgeous locale. Their venue of choice was Langdon Hall in Cambridge. For the colour palette, the pair chose to mix typical winter hues of grey, green, ivory and white with pops of burgundy and dusty rose. "Because Langdon Hall is surrounded by forests and gorgeous walking trails, we also incorporated pine and spruce, as well as pinecones and acorns to complete our nature theme and also bring an amazing smell to our day!" Cheryl explains.
Cheryl says her favourite wedding detail was the flowers. "I knew when I started planning the wedding that I was going to bring in as many flowers as I possible could," Cheryl shares. From The Potting Shed brought the bride's vision to life with an 18-foot floral garland, bouquets and flower favours.
The ceremony was made truly special by the fact that the couple's wedding was so intimate, with just 21 guests. "Walking down the aisle with my dad towards Ian, I was able to truly see every single person that was there," Cheryl says. "The snow was falling outside and the room was lit by candles and the lights on the Christmas tree. I will never forget the joy of that moment and the fact that our photos were able to capture everyone together."
