A White And Glittering Gold Wedding In Calgary
Even though Amanda and Josh had known each other since they were 10 years old, they didn't become a couple until quite a bit later in life. "Our parents were friends, so they made plans for all the kids to play together," Amanda recalls. "I remember my mom asking me if I thought Josh was cute, but of course I just said, 'Ew, mom! No!'" It was in 2011, after years of emailing and chatting on MSN Messenger, that Josh asked Amanda to be his girlfriend.
Josh's proposal came as a total surprise to Amanda. She had plans to get a pedicure with Josh's sister when she heard a knock at the door. "When I opened it, my handsome boyfriend--who was supposed to be in California--was standing there with flowers a big smile on his face," Amanda shares. "I was so surprised to see him, but I managed to pop out a 'yes' to his proposal!"
Amanda knew she wanted gold details for their wedding after selecting gold-sequined Sorella Vita dresses for her bridesmaids. "As soon as I saw them online, I knew they were what I wanted," Amanda says. "My girls loved their dresses and I thought they looked stunning in them." The gold theme evolved with the colour accenting their wedding stationery and their sweet table.
Walking down the aisle was a special moment for the pair. "Josh looked so handsome, I wanted to kiss him as soon as I got close enough," Amanda says with a laugh. "It was such a special moment when we finally locked lips!"
