Thomas asked Kate to marry him during a road trip to Banff National Park. Originally planning to pop the question during a helicopter ride over the rocky mountains, Thomas's plans came to a halt when the ride was grounded due to poor weather. Instead, he popped the question during a hike on the Athabasca Glacier. "I said yes," Kate recalls. "The next day, we went for the rescheduled helicopter tour and the pilot gave us an extra-long ride as an engagement present!"

Wanting their wedding to look elegant and timeless, the pair chose neutral colours that would always be in style, such as white, nude, blush and grey. "We also incorporated rose gold accents to play off the colour of our rings," Kate shares.

A memorable moment came early on in the day when the bride and groom, along with their wedding party, stopped at McDonald's on the way to the ceremony. "The whole wedding party went in, fully decked out in our wedding attire, and we got a standing ovation," Kate says with a laugh. "People came over to shake our hands, congratulate us and give us a little marriage advice. It was so cute!"

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed signature cocktails created by the bride and groom. "Instead of a full hard bar, we worked really hard to create three signature cocktails that were both delicious and represented our tastes as a couple," Kate explains. "Everybody loved them, and they were so delicious."
