Sean and Caitlin first met when they were kids, but their paths didn't cross again until much later, when they were both teachers coaching rival basketball teams. "Sean insists to this day that his team beat mine, but I’m not so sure," Caitlin laughs.
Sean proposed at Nathan Phillips Square, the place where the couple first exchanged the words "I love you." After ordering a limo to escort Caitlin to the square, Sean got down on one knee in front of the water fountains and popped the question. "I knew instantly what was happening. It was perfect!" Caitlin says.
The couple chose Arcadian Loft for their wedding venue as it overlooks the place where they became engaged. Plus, the pair loves Oliver & Bonacini resturants, so they knew from the start that it would be perfect for them. Not only did their venue provide a stunning view and great food, but the location also made for some gorgeous photo ops around downtown Toronto. "Walking through the heart of downtown Toronto for our photos was so much fun. Even though we were shooting on Friday during rush hour, somehow it felt like it was just us," Caitlin says.
For their wedding decor, the couple chose a soft palette of blush pink and navy with gold accents for a touch of glamour. "We wanted a contrast between the modernity of the city and the softness of a summer wedding, which is why we chose navy and pink. The gold added some much needed sparkle, and represented the ‘gold’ in my maiden name, Treadgold. It was the perfect combination," she explains.
Above all, Caitlin says that her favourite moment of the day was walking down the aisle towards her groom. "As soon as we saw each other, our nerves were instantly calmed. I don’t think we stopped smiling from that moment on," she remembers.
