Erik and Caitlin first met at Bishop's University in Quebec. "On our first date, Erik taught me to drive standard in his trusty Mazda Protege 5. Seven years later, he proposed while we were sitting down by the bonfire at a cottage we had rented. I, of course, said yes!" Caitlin says.
In honour of the place they met, the couple chose a wedding colour palette based on the Bishop's school colours, purple and silver. "Our colour scheme was lavender and grey. We felt that this was true to us but also a little more elegant for our wedding," Caitlin explains.
For their venue, the couple chose Skyloft ski hill in Uxbridge, Ontario, a chalet with a rustic feel ."We felt like the vintage, rustic decor at our wedding helped to elevate the beauty and elegance of the space. Plus, it gave us the opportunity to do some fun DIY projects!" Caitlin says.
The couple says that of all the special moments throughout the day, sharing a first look before the ceremony was the most memorable. "It calmed my nerves significantly and allowed for the intimacy that the ceremony couldn't provide. That private moment was one of the best parts of the whole day," Caitlin remembers.
