Canmore, Alberta was the location of choice for Lindsay and Cameron's celebration. "Canmore has always been a special spot for us," Lindsay explains. "My parents live there, and that's where Cam proposed." The pair knew they wanted to complement the beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop while keeping their wedding vibe relaxed and sentimental, so they chose a rustic-glam theme and incorporated seaglass, Lindsay's favourite colour.
Wanting to symbolize a fairytale ending, the couple incorporated fairytale-inspired details into their decor. "Our cake had a glass slipper on it, and between us at the head table was a twinkling glass vase enclosing a turquoise rose," Lindsay explains with a smile.
Sentimental touches were sprinkled throughout the day, including Lindsay's wedding dress--the same one her grandmother wore to her own wedding. "Dancing all night with my Grandma while wearing her wedding dress was probably one of the highlights," Lindsay remarks. Friends and family played key roles throughout the day, including a cousin who wrote and performed a song for them, as well the family dog, Pebbles, who walked down the aisle with Lindsay's grandmother.
Many of the details from the day were DIYed in Lindsay's family's workshop such as the frames, centrepieces, candle holders and signs. "The time we spent in there building and painting was special, and made the process leading up to the wedding so much fun," she explains.
