A Rustic Elegance-Themed Wedding In Winnipeg
For Chantalle and Jesse, romance blossomed through the online dating app Tinder. "His brother convinced him to sign up, and around the same time, my friends convinced me to sign up as well," Chantalle shares. "We realized how much we had in common, and the day we finally met, it was like we'd come home."
The couple used their love of nature to inspire their wedding theme. "I loved the idea of simple, rustic elegance with a bit of gold shimmer," Chantalle explains. "Sage green, dusty rose, cream and gold served as our colours--the end result was exactly what I wanted but had never been able to put into words."
Chantalle first saw her dream wedding dress in a magazine. She was able to track it down when Maggie Sottero had a trunk show the week she planned to go dress shopping. "I put it on and immediately loved it," Chantall recalls. "I knew Jesse would love it, too."
With Jesse being a musician, music played an important role in the couple's wedding. "We had a band called The Pink Socks play at our celebration--it was special because Jesse grew up playing in bands with a few of the members," Chantalle says with a smile. "It was one big sing along with covers spanning all the ages, and a dance party that got everyone, from the seven-year-old flower girl to my 87-year-old grandmother, on the dance floor!"
