This wedding shoot was inspired by one of the greatest love stories of all time -- Romeo and Juliet, the ultimate lovers’ tale.
To set the stage, wedding planner Ashley Lindzon and her team created a vintage book page aisle runner flanked by stacks of vintage books and rows of candles. The altar was completed by a natural and simple garland.
The invitation suite and signage was created by Barbara Kua Calligraphy and felt classic and bold with the deep red ink on the raw edged paper.
The bride, inspired by Juliet, wore a beautiful rosette gown by Twobirds Canada to pay tribute to one of the most quoted line: "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." The gown was accessorized by a veil and garter by Posh Veils.
"We wanted the florals to be rich and deep with the softness of the pastel and blush tones to reflect the Elizabethan era. Roses are obviously the first variety that came to mind for us, as there are so many rose references in the play," says Ashley. "Becky from Blush & Bloom used several David Austin rose varieties, cluster roses, and full, deep burgundy "hearts" roses for the arrangements. She also incorporated lots of textural greenery with ferns, and other foliage reminiscent of the time to contrast the florals. A simple bouquet of roses tied in velvet is exactly what we envisioned our Juliet carrying."
The Shakespearean wedding tablescape was created with a combination of vintage pieces mixed with classic contemporary elements. Calligraphy name cards, stacks of vintage books, velvet tied loaves of bread, crystal, and luscious blooms filled the sweetheart table and brought this wedding planner's vision of a dreamy and enchanting wedding to life.
