Brooklyn proposed to Kayla on top of a snow-covered mountain one month before Christmas. During a holiday shopping trip, Brooklyn surprised Kayla by driving toward the Golden Ears Bridge in Vancouver. "We took a helicopter up the mountain, and the view was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen," Kayla recalls. "Brooklyn got down on one knee in the snow and popped the question. It was spectacular!"
When planning their wedding, the couple knew they wanted their celebration to have a romantic, vintage feel."From the gold candlesticks with long white taper candles to the hanging chandeliers, everything was perfectly put together," Kayla affirms. "The white and blush flowers with lots of long, overhanging greenery, made the venue even more gorgeous."
According to Kayla, the best part of their day was the ceremony. Even though the initial forecast called for rain, as soon as Kayla began walking down the aisle, the clouds cleared and the sun came out. "It was terrific timing, and what was even better was I got to marry my best friend!"
Kayla and Brooklyn shared their first dance to "Speakers" by Sam Hunt, their favourite singer, having previously danced under the stars to a song by him. "Brooklyn and I always dance at home or anywhere else we are," Kayla shares. "It was the greatest feeling in the world, being able to dance as husband and wife for the first time. It felt like no one else was even there--it was nice to have that moment together."
