Jenna and Curtis were introduced by a mutual friend while they were both attending St. Francis Xavier University. "We moved to Calgary, and then Halifax after school," Jenna explains. "Curtis proposed to me on a return visit to our old campus--we planned the wedding for exactly one year later."
For their wedding, the couple wanted to tie together three elements: summer, watercolours and the farmers' market, which they chose as their venue. "We wanted it to be colourful, light and airy," Jenna shares. "The watercolours softened up our modern venue, which was the Seaport Farmers' Market in Halifax on the waterfront."
Since the couple had many guests from out of town, they made sure to spend time with them before the wedding. "We planned events and activities in the days leading up to the wedding," Jenna says. On the morning of, the bride enjoyed a special video created by the maid of honour featuring well wishes from friends and family. "It was so special and thoughtful of her," Jenna recalls.
One extra special detail from the celebration was the guestbook piñata, which Jenna had made in Toronto. "The guests all wrote notes to us and put them inside the pinata," Jenna says. "We're going to break it open on our one-year anniversary!"
