For their wedding, instead of picking a specific theme, Desiré and Austin just picked what they liked as they went along. "We wanted the linens and bridal party to remain neutral to make the focal point the absolutely beautiful berry-toned floral arrangements," Desiré shares. "I actually still have my bouquet because I think it’s too beautiful to throw away!"
Saying their vows to each other was the best part of their day. "I like to say we had tunnel vision—it wasn’t until we got back from the honeymoon that we found out during the ceremony an airplane had flown over and there were a couple of fussy kids," Desiré says. "We were only focused on each other."
Austin’s accessories were held special meaning for the couple. "He wore his great-granddad’s ring plus his granddad’s tiepin and watch," Desiré explains. "Austin’s granddad passed away two weeks before the wedding, so it was wonderful to have a memento of him with us."
The couple admits that one of their favourite wedding details was the epic dessert spread, which included cake, cupcakes, pies and cookies. "Austin has a sweet tooth, so he was looking forward to this the most," Desiré says. "The desserts were eaten so quickly we didn’t get a chance to save a piece for our first anniversary!"
