A Rustic Fall Wedding In Canmore

  |   By Mackenzie Patterson

A Romantic Fall Wedding in Canmore - Bride and Groom

Olivier and Marilie's wedding took place on a beautiful warm and sunny day in Canmore, Alberta. Although their family and friends are from Quebec, the couple chose to host a celebration with the stunning Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. "Our friends and family from Quebec came for our special day and we were so excited to welcome them to our home in Canmore. It was so great having our loved ones in our favourite place," Marilie explains.

Not only was their gorgeous venue, Boundary Ranch, a great meeting place for the couple and their guests, but it also influenced their rustic-chic wedding theme. Drawing inspiration from the natural landscape as well as the gorgeous autumn colours, Marilie and Olivier envisioned a simple yet elegant theme for their October celebration. "We ended up with a romantic country ambience with a palette of ivory, soft pink and cranberry to complement the fall season," Marilie says.

For their ceremony, the couple exchanged vows in both French and English to honour their background as well as the home they've built in Alberta. "It was important for us to incorporate our mother language into the ceremony out of respect for our origins, and our family and friends from Quebec. Saying our vows in both languages made the ceremony even more special," Marilie says.

Aside from their romantic vows, one of the bride's favourite details of the day was the amazing assortment of desserts at the reception. "Chocolate is our favourite flavour so we made sure every dessert had some kind of chocolate element to it. For those who wanted something savoury we also had a bacon bar, which was a huge hit with the guests, especially the deep-fried Doritos flavour!"
