After 11 years together, Krissy and Shayne decided to exchange vows in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Always wanting a destination wedding, the high school sweethearts decided on a beachside ceremony with a rustic, boho twist. “I didn't want anything too fancy, but I also didn't want too much of a laid back vibe. So I brought a romantic feel in with the string lights,” Krissy says. “Every time I pictured my wedding, I always pictured string lights. It adds such a romantic feel and completed the look.”
Though Krissy’s mother passed away before she could see her daughter walk down the aisle, Krissy’s beautiful open-back lace wedding dress held sentimental value. “The year before I got engaged, my mother passed away. We knew it was coming, so she and I would always look at wedding dresses for fun. I remember finding this dress on Pinterest and we both fell in love with it,” says Krissy. “Fast-forward a year, she passed, I got engaged and tried dresses on but I knew I needed that dress. I found the dress on Pinterest, found out it was a company in Australia, and purchased dress without even trying it on. Mom loved it, so I had to have it!”
Krissy says seeing so many loved together in Mexico was one of the best parts of her big day. “Watching 94 of our friends and family, all in one room, having the best time was truly amazing," she explains.
