A Relaxed, Boho Wedding In Toronto

  |   By Mackenzie Patterson

A Relaxed, Boho Wedding in Toronto - Bride and Groom

Alex and Miles were first brought together by their shared loved of dancing when they met a dance class almost a decade before their wedding. "Miles said he knew instantly I was the one, and he followed me around to dance classes all over the city until he asked me to be his girlfriend one evening at a beautiful park," says Alex. "He popped the question in the same park, and of course, I said yes!"

For their wedding, the couple chose to forego a traditional theme or colour palette, opting instead for a relaxed, boho-inspired celebration. "It was extremely non-traditional—we just wanted to make our guests feel relaxed. I even got my bridesmaids to wear jumpsuits so they would be 100 percent comfortable," Alex explains.

In keeping with the relaxed feel of the wedding, Alex and Miles held an outdoor picnic instead of a sit-down dinner. "We placed blankets and pillows around the venue to ensure maximum comfort," says Alex. Just a few of the delectable treats served at the event included coffee and donuts from Steel Cut Coffee truck, burgers and fries from Burgatory and snow cones from Sweet Ice Snow Cones.

One of the highlights of the event was the epic dance party to live music at the end of the night. "Miles and I are professional dancers (you may remember us from So You Think You Can Dance Canada!) so things got absolutely insane once the lights went down," Alex reminisces. "I changed into a fun little dancing dress and people were flipping, salsa dancing, and grooving long into the night."
