Joel and Nicole met six years ago while both were on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. "We had incredible chemistry," Nicole says. "Because I’m from California and Joel is from Calgary, Alberta, we dated long distance until I took a leap of faith and moved to Calgary."
The pair wanted a timeless, yet modern look for their big day. "I ended up combining the pieces of three different designers to achieve two unique looks for the day," Nicole explains. "I wore an elegant lace topper to tie my two-piece dress together during the ceremony, and took it off for the reception."
The couple opted for a private first look. "Seeing Joel for the first time while up on 'the ridge' was absolutely breathtaking," Nicole says. "The scenery, my handsome groom and those precious minutes we were able to share before the ceremony were priceless. The calming presence of each other was just what we needed to prepare for the day ahead."
The venue was one of the couple's favourite details of their day. "Cherry Creek Estate sits on sprawling acres of green with beautiful foliage and trees," Nicole shares. "The property is home to two horses which added the ultimate drama to some of our sunset session wedding photos."
