Jennifer and Chad's connection goes all the way back to elementary school. “We met in grade seven and we actually dated for like a week,” Jennifer says. Years later, having lost touch, fate brought the pair back together again when Jennifer’s sister started working at Chad’s family's vet clinic. The pair reconnected and picked up where they had left off in elementary school.
Chad proposed under the stars, beneath a tree full of sparkling lights. This was an unforgettable prelude to the pair’s simple and elegant outdoor nuptials. The couple chose neutral tones and greens for their colour scheme to complement their beautiful Caledon venue.
The cocktail hour had a sweet surprise when Jennifer and Chad’s guests were treated to an ice cream truck. "We attend church regularly and many of our friends choose not to drink any alcohol. We really wanted them to feel included in the cocktail reception so we had an ice cream truck that offered six different flavours of ice cream and toppings," Jennifer explains. “It was a huge hit for everyone.”
Another highlight of the day was when Jennifer preformed with her sister during the reception. “Instead of just doing the traditional dances, my sister and I preformed a choreographed dance,” Jennifer explains. “We both grew up doing competitive dancing. We decided to dance to a special song that has always made us think of each other. We are so close and it was the perfect addition to our day.”
The day was made even more special as the photographer was one of Jennifer’s closest friends. “I know people caution you from using friends as vendors, but I used my good friend Casey Nolin as our photographer and she absolutely killed it,” Jennifer says. “Having a friend share an intimate day with you really allows you to really relax in front of the lens.”
