A Lovely Manitoba Wedding With Chevron Details

Sarah Lipinski and and Lloyd Dueck's love story didn't begin until two years after they met at a mutual friend's house. Shortly after, the couple got engaged in Belize while visiting Lloyd's sister. "One night, Lloyd asked me if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach. I should’ve known something was up, because he hates going for walks!" Sarah shares. "We walked down the beach to a long dock with a tiki hut at the end and I noticed a table, chairs and candles. I told Lloyd we couldn’t be there because the dock was set up for something and he told me it was set up for me. I sat down and noticed the ring surrounded by candles in the shape of a heart."

For their wedding day, Sarah and Lloyd wanted their day to be mellow but still elegant. Their venue was comprised of big bright windows overlooking a park and duck pond. The couple was so mesmerized by the beautiful surroundings that they chose neutral colours to complement the venue. "We incorporated a fun chevron pattern in grey and white in our table runners and stationery," Sarah explains. "We thought it would keep things from looking too monochromatic. We added some pops of mint in our bridesmaids' dresses, stationery and table décor for a touch of colour too."

Following the wedding ceremony Sarah and Lloyd enjoyed a slideshow with a few surprises. "Our slideshow was awesome and featured a hilarious picture of Lloyd that his cousins saved for over 15 years specifically for his wedding day. Also featured was a personal video from Zac Hanson, my childhood crush from the band Hanson giving Lloyd and I marriage advice," Sarah shares.

In addition, one of the many highlights from their wedding was how involved their family and friends were. "We chose to have a couple of our family members and close friends perform our wedding songs. It made the wedding songs way more personal and they did an amazing job," Sarah remembers.
