Marco and Mary first met at a friend’s graduation ceremony. "We didn’t keep in touch, but fate brought us together again when we met at the Vancouver International Airport, where we both used to work," Mary explains. "We recognized each other from that brief encounter three years previously, and that’s where our story began."
The couple decided on a vintage-themed wedding, with unique details such as a vintage-style furniture and tableware. "Marco is a very artistic person, and he loves the look of almost all vintage elements," Mary says. "Our decor was pretty much exactly what we had pictured, and every element fit our vision perfectly!" Along with the decor, the couple also had an incredible sweet table with an amazing array of cakes. "One cake just wasn't enough," Mary says with a laugh. "Instead we had a cake party! Effie Chiang did an amazing job at making not just delicious cakes, but beautiful works of art."
Instead of doing a first look, the couple opted for Marco to turn around when Mary and her father were walking down the aisle. "Seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony was such a precious moment," Mary recalls. "It was one of the most beautiful moments of the entire day."
The bride and groom shared their first dance to "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. "It wasn’t just our first time dancing as a married couple; it was our first time dancing ever," Mary reveals. "There was lots of stepping on each other’s toes, but it was so worth it!"
