Sabrina and Zach's began dating after building a house together. "The foundation of our relationship was cemented during a 10-day group trip to El Salvador to build a home for a family in need, when we were both part of the Queen’s University chapter of Habitat for Humanity," Sabrina explains.
Zach made his proposal to Sabrina a truly Canadian one. "After years of talking about skating on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, in 2015 we finally did," Sabrina says. "We skated the length of the canal and back in minus 20 degree Celsius weather, and then Zach popped the question at sunset with Parliament Hill as our backdrop."
Wanting a unique method of transportation for the wedding day, the couple opted to cruise around in a vintage 1949 silver Rolls Royce.
270 of the couple's closest friends and family attended the celebration, an elegant affair with navy and pink details. "Zach wanted to wear a navy suit from the beginning," Sabrina shares. "I love the look of floral print, and we liked the idea of navy with vibrant florals for a July wedding."
The band was the same one that played at Sabrina's parents’ wedding. "They surprised my parents by calling them onto the dance floor to repeat their first dance from 30 years ago!" Sabrina says. "The band was phenomenal and kept the party going all night long."
