American Idol alumni Kimberly Caldwell tied the knot with soccer superstar Jordan Harvey (who plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC) in grand Gatsby fashion on New Year's Eve. The event was held at the Bougainvillea Estate just outside Palm Springs, California, where the couple said their "I dos" just before sundown during a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The bride's best friend, Tunde Ovene served as the officiant while the couple's closest family and friends stood as the wedding party.
For their affair, Kimberly and Jordan asked guests to attend in black tuxedos and long sequined gowns. The bride wore a stunning Stephen Yearick gown while the groom donned an on-trend suit in Pantone's Colour of the Year, Marsala. The bridesmaids paid homage to the 1920s in black sequined gowns of their choosing.
The romantic ceremony was immediately followed by a cocktail reception in the estate's grand foyer, where Kimberly and Jordan shared their first dance. The reception decor echoed the jazz age theme as well as the holidays season, with black and gold accents, sparkle, and a gorgeous Christmas tree lighting up the space. Guests were asked to share words of love and wisdom on white and gold ornaments, which would then be used as decorations on the couple's future Christmas trees.
At the conclusion of cocktail hour, Kimberly changed into a custom Walter Mendez dress. The couple was then seated at a sweetheart table outdoors, which was draped in gold linens and topped with exquisite candelabras. The remainder of the reception was held inside the estate's vast game room, which included a home theatre showcasing films throughout the night, a stocked bar, pinball machines, pool tables, giant Jenga, and of course a fabulous DJ.
At midnight, the bride and groom counted down to 2015 with their guests, enjoying a champagne toast and sparklers.
