Anjalyn and Patrick knew they wanted a gorgeous venue for their intimate wedding. For this reason, they chose exquisite Emerald Lake as the the backdrop for their celebration. "I really wanted something to complement the colours of the natural surrounding and the vivid turquoise lake, so I chose lilac," Anjalyn explains. "I always knew I wanted a classic, formal look for our wedding." Wanting to balance out the rustic setting, the couple selected Anjalyn's favourite flowers, peonies and dahlias, in soft, in romantic shades of ivory and blush pink.
The couple says their wedding accessories were especially sentimental. Anjalyn wore an heirloom gold ring with ruby and gold inlay, and her mother's diamond earrings. "I also wore a charm bracelet with charms collected throughout my life, and put some charms on my bouquet to serve as my something blue, borrowed, old and new," she smiles. The groom's cufflinks were monogramed and gifted from his sister and her husband.
Seeing Patrick's face light up during their first dance was an especially memorable moment for Anjalyn. "I found a romantic cover of his favourite song, 'I'm Gonna Be,' by The Proclaimers, covered by Sleeping At Last," she explains. "I loved seeing how happy he was and how much it meant to him as it played in the background. It was so special."
