A Greenery-Filled Wedding In New Brunswick
High school sweethearts Melissa and Korey were engaged in November 2015, while the pair were in the final days of building their first home. "He got down on one knee in the living room of our new empty house and told me he couldn't wait to spend the rest of our lives together," Melissa recalls with a smile.
Wanting their wedding to reflect the late summer season, the couple selected hunter green as their wedding colour, complemented by gold accents. "We wanted an elegant garden theme for our wedding," Melissa explains. "We also wanted it to reflect the location, the Algonquin Resort in the historical St. Andrews-by-the-Sea."
The decor centred around beautiful blooms, with flowy garden-style bouquets, lush arbour accents and centrepieces. "We used white garden roses, white regular roses, white freesia, white lisianthus and both seeded and silver dollar eucalpytus," Melissa explains.
A favourite moment for Melissa and Korey was seeing one another at the beginning of the ceremony. "The anticipation was building up inside of both of us," Melissa shares. "I couldn't stop the tears flowing down my cheeks as we got closer and closer together as I walked down the aisle."
