A Glamourous Red and Black Wedding in Brantford, Ontario
Since Robert Puglielli proposed to Alexandra Alpi with 12 red roses, it was only fitting that the pair incorporate the same colour in their glamourous red and black wedding. Alexandra, who planned the entire celebration herself, was dressed in multi-tierred mermaid gown from Kenneth Pool and custom fascinator veil by Lillput Hats when she walked down the aisle of Farringdon Independent Church. Afterward a traditional ceremony, the newlyweds joined their 240 guests at Liuna Gardens. "They're by far the best hall in terms of atmosphere, service and food. We were thrilled with how the night went," says Alexandra. The chandelier-speckled ballroom of Liuni Gardens also provided the perfect backdrop for the glamourous red and black wedding, which drew inspiration from crystals, feathers, damask and -- of course -- red roses. Tables draped in black and white linens were adorned with towering centrepieces just as dramatic as their setting: mounds of red roses, hydrangea and black feathers perched atop spherical vases filled with red dendrobium orchids, the entire creation dripping with black and white crystals. Following a traditional Italian wedding feast complete with an antipasti bar, guests were treated to a crystal studded damask wedding cake with a crown of red roses. After an evening of dancing, family and friends departed the glamourous red and black wedding with bejewelled picture frames containing a heartfelt message from the bride and groom.
