John proposed to Monica when they were stuck inside on a rainy day. "I found the ring box hidden under my clothes, but it was empty when I opened it. By the time I looked up, he was down on one knee pulling the ring out of his pocket," Monica remembers.
For the wedding, Monica envisioned a romantic, light and fun celebration. "I chose a palette of ivory, blush and gold for a touch of glamour," she explains. "Seeing the decor come to life at our soiree was unforgettable!"
The couple chose the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton as their reception venue for its stellar location and beautiful views. "It’s such a beautiful place and the location overlooking Edmonton’s river valley is even better. The locale really stole the show and all of our guests agreed the view was breathtaking," Monica says.
Overall, the couple agrees that the ceremony was the best part of the day. "As I walked down the aisle I could see no one else but John. It was the scariest but most amazing feeling, and all the butterflies from the morning suddenly disappeared," says Monica. "When we put the rings on, we both looked at each other at the same time and said, 'This is it!'"
