In September 2015, Monica and Chris visited Tuscany and quickly fell in love with the region, so a Tuscan theme seemed the obvious choice for their wedding. The couple replicated the sights and smells of the region with a colour palette of whites, ivories, light blushes, and earthy greens such as eucalyptus and olive. “The motif was best captured in the flowers,” Monica explains. “The blooms stayed true to the colour concept and were a mix of beautiful garden roses, ranunculus, and peonies.”
Monica and Chris also incorporated lush greens into their reception, seating guests at long harvest tables decorated with garlands and votive candles. “The foliage was so fragrant it filled the room with a subtle yet fresh aroma,” Monica remembers. Guests were served Caprese salad, thyme-roasted chicken, and slow-roasted pork loin with roasted Niagara orchard fruits or creamy polenta topped with grilled asparagus, all reminiscent of Tuscan flavours.
The day came together perfectly with clear skies and a soft breeze across the wedding venue’s sprawling vineyards. “We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day, in a more gorgeous setting for our ceremony,” Monica says. Their first dance, to "Adorn" by Miguel, was one of the couple’s favourite moments. “We’ve been together for 12 years,” Monica explains. “We always knew we were right for each other, so our wedding was much anticipated by our friends and family. It felt great to finally have them share in this expression of our love, devotion and commitment to each other.”
