Colin and Sara met at a New Year’s Eve party in Moncton, New Brunswick. "I was visiting for the holidays from Montreal, where I was attending grad school, and we connected instantly after being introduced by mutual friends," Sara recalls. "After graduating I moved to New Brunswick to start our life together!"
For their wedding, the couple allowed the winter season to provide the inspiration. "Luckily, the charming city of Charlottetown and the venue, Prince Edward Island Brewing Company, provided the perfect backdrop for a simple and elegant, yet modern and relaxed affair," Sara says.
The couple made greenery the focal point of their decor. "It gave the wedding a wintry and natural look, which I loved," Sarah shares. "We also added hundreds of tiny lights to the centrepieces to boost the romance." The bridesmaids were dressed in what Sara calls "practical attire". "I couldn't find any dresses that would keep them warm enough outside, but the dresses ended up being unexpected and grand," she says.
Sara and Colin agreed that being surrounded by so many people they loved was really the highlight of their day. "Celebrating our love with our closest family and friends is truly what stood out for me," Sara says with a smile. "All day I felt as though my heart could burst at any moment!"
