An Elegant Wedding With Purple And Grey Details In Winnipeg

Matt proposed to Katarina while the couple was on vacation in New York City. "He casually suggested a rowboat excursion on the lake in Central Park, and I agreed, but kept getting distracted by the other sights in the park," Katarina shares. "Finally, at sunset, Matt got down on one knee, but while attempting to gracefully kneel, he nearly tipped the boat over! Luckily, no one was sent swimming and I said yes."

The bride chose a palette of purple, lavender and grey, wanting the wedding to feel elegant yet modern at the same time. "Purple is a regal colour, and that shade, along with my wedding dress, made me feel like royalty," Katarina explains. "The flowers, with pops of lavender, perfectly complemented my dress and the grey bridesmaid dresses. I always wanted roses in shades of purple and pink, and the florist delivered."

Among the couple's favourite details were the food and beverages. "We wanted guests to have a wide variety of drinks to choose from so we opted for an amazing selection of wine," Katarina says. The cake from Cake Studio was another favourite detail, topped with flowers in shades of purple, which complemented the couple's colour scheme. "We also wanted a delicious treat for those who weren’t fans of cake," Katarina adds. "Guests loved filling their bags at the candy bar with a variety of treats and sweets."

According to Katarina, their wedding song was the only song Matt could successfully dance to. Instead of a slow-paced song, the couple wanted something fun and uplifting. "We ended up choosing the electronic dance song “Jubel” by Klingande--we had a blast dancing to this song," Katarina says. "The highlight of the evening was partying with friends and family into the wee hours."
