Laura and Tony met in high school and have been friends for over 16 years. Though Laura can’t pinpoint the exact day they met, she remembers the day she fell in love with Tony. “That was our Valentine’s Day date. Neither of us wanted it to end and we kept driving around, admiring houses we liked,” Laura recalls. A month later, after dinner at a local restaurant, Laura knew they would spend the rest of their lives together. “It was just the most perfect romantic evening. I could just feel how much he cared for me and loved me already. He made me laugh all night, and it was just a romantic dinner that sealed the deal on my heart.”
The couple decided to approach their wedding with a classy, elegant, and sparkly theme. “I typically love a lot of sparkle,” Laura shares, “But I wanted things to just exude elegance, class and, most importantly, romance and I think we were successful with that.”
The couple chose gold, black, and white for their colour palette, with striped accents and pinks in their florals. The bridesmaids selected their own gowns in shades of gold, champagne, and rose gold, which all blended together beautifully.
Laura’s first dance with Tony was one of the highlights of the evening. Laura and Tony chose the song, “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison, a less traditional song that celebrates the couple’s love of travel and the adventures they’ll embark on together. “I think it reminds us both to live life and just explore,” Laura says. “We both have just really come to the realization that the world isn’t worth exploring unless you have someone to do that with.”
