The first time Katherine and Jeff met was at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where they were introduced by their mutual friend Sean. The pair would study together at school, and from there a romance blossomed.
One thing that Katherine knew she wanted for their wedding was to include her favourite flowers—pink peonies and pink orchids. They decided on a romantic, elegant, fairy-tale-like theme and added a splash of champagne to complement the pink hues.
The Swanset Bay Resort and Country Club proved to be the perfect venue, with the reception being held in the venue's ballroom. "Our wedding planner, Liting and her team at Paradise Events did an amazing job to translate my vision to life," Katherine shares. "It was even better than what I had envisioned." Crystal centrepieces added elegance to the overall reception.
The couple had their fairy-tale moment during the first look, held at the venue's grand staircase. "It truly felt like a dream come true," Katherine says.
Music played a big role in the couple's day, with a harpist playing at the ceremony, and a jazz singer and pianist during cocktail hour. When the newlyweds entered their reception, the pianist played "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. "It's definitely my favourite song," Katherine explains. "We also made sure to include Pachelbel's Canon and Mendelssohn's Wedding March in our big day—it was something I've dreamed about ever since I was young."
