Dreamy romantic summer nuptials can be gorgeously contrasted with an outdoor venue with an unfinished, ruins-like feel. For this styled shoot by Chic and Grace Studios, soft, ethereal details including asymmetrical linens, taper candles and a hand-lettered backdrop brought lovely whimsy to this location in Big Valley, Alberta.
When coming up with the theme for the shoot everything was designed around the venue. "My inspiration came from the ruins. I wanted to create a contrast with a soft romantic feel," explains photographer Kimberly of Chic and Grace Studios. "I always love the look of all the old stone in Europe and wanted to find a place that could have a similar feel." While many of the details contrasted with the location, some details were beautifully inspired by its texture and unfinished character. This included a white cake with rough buttercream edging and thick paper with unfinished edging for the hand-lettered stationery suite.
