A Cottage-Chic Summer Wedding

Aiden and Adam's first encounter was a "right place, right time" moment. "We struck up a conversation during a chance, late-night meeting outside the Thompson Hotel in Toronto, even though at the time Adam was living in Mississauga," Aiden recalls. "He’s had me laughing every day since."

For their wedding, the coupled wanted a very clean, modern and classic look. "You could call our theme 'cottage-chic,' mixing white candles and warm lighting with hues of nude, pink, blues and whites," Aiden says. "It was all very fresh and bright, and seemed especially appropriate since the wedding was at the cottage of some very close family friends of ours."

The wedding day started off relaxed, with Aiden and her bridesmaids getting ready together, having their hair and makeup done, while sipping champagne and staring at the beautiful outdoor scenery. A favourite detail for the bride and groom were the rings, which hold special meaning to them. "My engagement ring has a tanzanite centre stone, which is our son’s birthstone," Aiden shares. "It gave my heart a little leap to see the wedding rings together—mine is dainty and sparkly while Adam’s is classic and masculine."

The couple shared their first dance to the John Legend song, "You and I (Nobody in the World)." "We listen to John Legend a lot, and his music calmed our son when he was a newborn," Aiden explains. "While we were dancing, all the guests were holding sparklers, and even though everyone was all around us, it felt like a very private moment between just Adam and I."
