After Sophie and Payton became best friends in high school, it was clear that their friendship would blossom into something more. "Payton would wait for me at my locker every morning and often found ways to get me out of class for a quick stroll in the hallways," Sophie recalls. "When Payton was drafted to the OHL and moved to Perry Sound when we were in Grade 10, I started making trips with Payton's dad to go and watch his games. We've been together ever since!"

The couple's love of the outdoors and wine inspired their Niagara region wedding. "Stratus Vineyards was absolutely stunning on its own so we didn't want to take away from its natural beauty, and instead let it inspire us," Sophie shares. "To add a bit of romance, we had white garden roses and hundreds of white votive candles and gold candelabras spread across the tables. The cellar barrels that surrounded us during the reception served as a final touch!"

The sweet table, which included over 100 glitter doughnuts and macarons with a gold "L" for Liske, was a favourite detail. "We had a lot of fun picking--and eating--our desserts!" Sophie says.

Despite having their wedding song picked out for a long time, the couple's first dance wasn't as planned. "We kept forgetting to actually practice the dance part!" Sophie says with a laugh. "We pretty much winged our first dance and decided to throw in some twirls on the spot. We were able to have it on the outside terrace with our family and friends waving sparklers around us. It was wicked!"
