For their wedding, Andrew and Funke knew they wanted to have a fun and colourful atmosphere to reflect her Nigerian roots as well as his modern and minimal style. "We did this through our colour palette, which was a mix of tangerine, raspberry, orchid and white gold," Funke explains. "For our centrepieces, we grouped together five votive candle holders alongside orange dahlias, large roses and gorgeous orchids," she adds. The jewel toned colour scheme continued into the tablescapes, helping to create the vibrant feel the couple had envisioned for their day. "Playing on the jewel tones of our colour palette, we also added table numbers made from pink and purple agate coasters, with gold calligraphy hand-painted by Art + Alexander. The whole atmosphere was welcoming, joyous and energetic," Funke says.
Aside from the décor, the couple's favourite detail of the day was their cake created by Whippt Desserts & Catering. "They incorporated the colours of our decor into the cake and also added ruffled layers and sparkling fondant elements, inspired by my wedding gown," Funke explains.
The high point of the celebration was the amazing dance party facilitated by their DJ, which had been a wedding day non-negotiable for the couple. "Andrew and I danced the whole night and we had a good mix of lots of songs including Nigerian artists. A lot of our guests told us that the dancing was the highlight for them, as it was for us," says Funke.
