A Classic Romantic Wedding In Calgary

Jared and Nicole were engaged at the Eldorado Hotel on Lake Okanagan in Kelowna. "One afternoon, while I was lounging on one of the rooftop patio beds, Jared asked me to come over to him. Leaving my comfortable spot, I grudgingly did. He got down on one knee, and I said yes!" Nicole recalls. "We heard cheers and applause from the people in the boats in the harbour below us, who had witnessed the whole thing."

For their wedding, the couple wanted a simple and timeless feel, choosing vintage pieces such as their altar with vintage doors and rug, a sewing table used as a cake and signing table, and brass candlesticks. "I also loved the eucalyptus garlands that decorated our venue," Nicole shares.

Being from Calgary, Jared and Nicole are big fans of country music, so it was only natural they would choose a country song for their first dance. "When we first heard 'Die a Happy Man' by Thomas Rhett, we thought it perfectly described how we feel about each other," Nicole explains. "We don't need flashy things, and we find so much joy in spending time together."

Looking back, Nicole says the entire day was full of special moments. "From getting ready with my girlfriends to hearing Jared's vows and listening to the speeches, it was truly a special day we'll never forget."
