Canada's Cutest Couple Has Tied The Knot!

You voted and, in April, Kristie Thébeau and Kyle Simpson were awarded the title of Canada's Cutest Couple. In June the pair tied the knot and we think their wedding was just as fabulous as the winning love story they shared with us.

Kristie and Kyle's celebration took place in a rustic barn in Clinton, P.E.I. "It was the absolute perfect place for a ceremony," explains Kristie. "We chose it for its effortless beauty and the need for very few decorations." The couple decided on a blush, navy blue and gold colour palette to complement their venue. "We chose these colours for their muted elegance and vintage feel," says Kristie.

Considering Kyle popped the question in an antique shop, Kristie knew that vintage treasures also needed to play a part in their big day. Stacks of vintage books and vases served as centrepieces while an antique door was used to display hankies to catch happy tears. "We had a ton of old hankies that we didn’t know what to do with so we strung them on an old door and it ended up being one of my favorite details," says Kristie.

Kristie and Kyle agree that one of the best moments of the day was their intimate first look. "It was such an unbelievable feeling to finally get to see each other and it was so special to be able to do it just the two of us – no crowd watching. It was nice to just have a moment to ourselves and be able to talk to each other. It was also a huge help with calming the nerves," Kristie explains.

Kristie admits that one of her favourite wedding details was one that will help her relive all of the joy of her wedding day. "We made a heart-shaped piñata and asked our guests to leave us a message, a joke or some advice for our one-year anniversary in it," she explains. "It was a fun, unique element that I decided to add at the last minute and I can’t wait to crack it open on our one-year anniversary"
