A Boho Chic Wedding in Winnipeg - Bride and Groom

Peter proposed to Lauren while the couple was on vacation with Lauren's family in Hawaii. "We rented a car for a few days and were spending the weekend by ourselves. Peter popped the question while we were out for a drive," Lauren remembers. "He pulled over to a deserted beach and asked me to marry him. The setting was so perfect and romantic—there were even whales in the distance!"

When the wedding day arrived, the couple awoke to less than perfect weather. Luckily, the rain subsided just in time. "During our first look photo, the sun broke through the clouds and we were able to have a picture-perfect shot," Lauren says. "After some tears we had a seriously successful photo session where we went around the city to classic wedding photo locales, like the Winnipeg Art Gallery and The Exchange District, to get some amazing shots with our bridal party," say Lauren.

After the photo shoot, the couple held their ceremony at the beautiful Cielo's Garden in Winnipeg. "Our ceremony was short, sweet and beautiful. It was made even more special by the simple and gorgeous chapel and the solo cellist we hired for music," Lauren explains. "For our reception, everything from the flowers to the food and wine was exactly how I imagined, but better!"

The couple admit that one of the most memorable aspects of the wedding was the once-in-a-lifetime full moon lunar eclipse that took place that evening, making the event even more unforgettable. "The weather was ideal for viewing the eclipse, so at one point everyone ventured outside of the tent to watch it and share in the moment–it was spectacular!" Lauren says.
