A Blush Vineyard Wedding In British Columbia

When Stephanie and Craig were engaged, they took into consideration their different family traditions when deciding how to get married. "Craig and I have a strong bond with our families," Stephanie explains. "We were first married in a Catholic church in Vancouver surrounded by our immediate family and close friends." Not wanting their second celebration to go by as quickly, they chose a destination wedding in Kelowna to spend an extended long weekend together.

"Our ceremony site at Cedar Creek was a feast for the eyes," Stephanie shares. "Surrounded by rose gardens, grapevines, mountains and the lake, it was the perfect venue to declare our love." After Stephanie purchased her blush-coloured bridal gown, it was easy to choose a colour palette. "Our blush and gold colours were carried throughout the entire wedding," Stephanie says. "From the personalized stationery to the blush sequined table linens, we wanted a romantic, natural feel."

A favourite detail included the wine bottle seating display, which complemented the couple's vineyard theme. "It was unique and I had never seen it done at another wedding before," Stephanie says. "We placed the bottles in a row on a wooden plank on top of wine barrels, and the labels were personalized with our blush and gold colour theme."

The couple shared their first dance to John Fogerty's "Joy of My Life," which held special meaning. "My mom always used to say to my sister and I that we were the 'joy of her life.' When Craig played that song and said it was his favourite, I felt it was a sign from my mom telling me that Craig was the man for me," Stephanie shares. "We lost my mom five years ago, and she never met Craig, so I felt truly connected to this song that Craig introduced me to. It was an emotional dance for us both."
