After working in the travel industry at Vision Travel for eight years, Alexandra knew she wanted a destination wedding. Since her groom, Jeff, had proposed in front of Cinderella's castle at Disney World while they were dressed up as Beauty and the Beast, it seemed logical that their wedding should follow suit. "We chose a Beauty and the Beast themed wedding at Disney World as a nod to the way Jeff proposed. Disney holds a lot of special memories for us as a couple, and from a travel perspective, I knew the venue would create an amazing experience for our guests," Alexandra says.
Like a true princess, Alexandra rode in Cinderella's coach to the wedding, which made the whole experience that much more magical. "Riding in Cinderella’s coach with my aunt and best friend was a dream come true, I have always dreamed that I would get to arrive at my wedding in Cinderella’s coach," she says.
A colour palette of red, pink, gold and blue accents and plenty of other enchanting decor details helped to set the mood for a fairy tale reception. One of the bride's favourite elements of the day was the Beauty and the Beast themed wedding cake that she had custom made for the celebration. "The bottom tier with the Beauty and the Beast line artwork inside the gold church windows was beautiful, and the middle tier had the standout rose. The cake flavours were amazing as well: the bottom tier was red velvet with cream cheese filling, and the middle and top tier were orange cake with dark chocolate pearl crisp mousse," she says.
The couple even had rose-shaped ice sculptures made for the day, which brought an extra wow factor to the decor. "Each guest was delivered their own rose ice sculpture illuminated with red lights and topped with strawberry sorbet. It was a truly magical and unique experience our guests can't stop talking about," says Alexandra.
The night ended with dancing, photos, and an appearance from special guests Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck. "It was so neat to have our favourite Disney characters attend our special day," Alexandra shares "Afterwards both characters were able to dance with us all on the dance floor, something we will talk about forever!"
