A Beautiful Destination Wedding In Bali

When it came to planning their destination wedding, Samantha and Elliott were inspired by photos of Bali's Padang Padang Beach. "It's incredible, with the beautiful cliffs and an intimate natural setting," Samantha says. "I love the ocean, and the natural rocky setting is stunning and so unique to Bali."

Samantha, a Toronto-based wedding photographer, knew she had to have her dream wedding shooter photograph her wedding. The couple enlisted Marcus Bell from Studio Impressions in Australia to capture their day. "He inspired me to get into the wedding industry," Samantha says.

Romantic details and gorgeous flowers filled the couple's ceremony and reception at Villa Anugrah. "Although it had a very tropical feel, it was very modern with the venue and table settings," Samantha says.

For the ceremony, Samantha wore a blush pink gown by Augusta Jones from Kleinfeld Hudson's Bay. "It had the feel I wanted: simple and elegant, but with a soft romantic silk organza skirt with not too much poofiness," she explains. "I felt like a princess." She ended up purchasing extra lace fabric from the designer and had a dressmaker tailor a custom bolero, which she wore during the ceremony. "I also really loved my cathedral-length blush pink veil," she adds. "It was perfect for the shots at the beach!"

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception held atop a cliff facing the ocean lit by string lights.

Among the details were embossed place cards and David's Tea favours. The couple shared their first dance to "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Frankie Valli. "The live acoustic band we selected had a great acoustic rendition of this song," Samantha says. "It was so romantic to be in Elliott's arms and have the warm fairy lights around us for our first dance."

Following their wedding, the couple stayed for two weeks in Bali to spend time with family and friends. "Since I am from Australia but live in Canada, I don't get to spend time with my friends and family from Australia often so it was the perfect time to catch up with everyone," Samantha recalls. "It was a blast!"
