“Ollie and I were introduced by a fellow hostel-mate while backpacking in Spain,” Angela explains. “By coincidence, a few weeks later we both ended up in Valencia—and we were both staying at the same hostel!” In 2011, Ollie surprised Angela with a trip back to Spain where he proposed in Barcelona’s Park Güell, an architectural garden complex overlooking the city. The location was so impressive that it helped inspire the duo’s Spanish-style wedding. “Our signature cocktail was cava sangria and our wedding favours were sangria loose-leaf tea because sangria was the drink we toasted with after getting engaged in Barcelona,” Angela adds. Continuing with their Spanish theme, the couple had their guests sign broken pieces of tile to create an Antonio Gaudi-inspired mosaic as a memento of their perfect day.
