An Intimate Backyard Wedding in Ottawa, Ontario

One night while Savannah was waiting for a taxi in front of The Standard in Ottawa, Blake approached her out of the blue and sparked up a conversation. He asked if they could grab a drink some time and without hesitation, she called him the next day. Two years later, the couple tied the knot at an intimate fall-themed wedding. The ceremony took place in Blake's parents' backyard amidst the fallen autumn leaves.

"Every time we could catch our breath to soak it all in, we realized we threw a wedding we would have loved to attend," Savannah says. "All of the details, from the location and decor to the food and music were intimately chosen to reflect our tastes and our personalities, so watching our guests enjoy the atmosphere and each other was a very gratifying feeling."

The couple says their favourite wedding detail was the raw oyster bar at their reception. They also treated their guests to a custom playlist of their favourite tunes. "The entire reception playlist we created was a labour of love and we still play it at home just hanging out," says Savannah.
