An English Country Garden Wedding in King Township, Ontario

  |   By Roseanne Dela Rosa

A mutual love for horses was what led Laura and Graeme to cross paths at an equestrian centre. “I had a huge crush on Graeme when I first saw him,” Laura laughs. “But, it wasn’t until four years later that we started dating.” Naturally, when it came to venue hunting for their English country garden wedding, the two booked a site similar to where they originally met. “The WaterStone Estate & Farms was perfect and had everything we were looking for in a venue: horses and beautiful rolling hills,” Laura exclaims. With her British background and Graeme’s Scottish and Irish roots, the pair brainstormed an array of ways to incorporate their cultures into their English country garden wedding. “As a nod to our heritage we decorated the space with antique teapots, while Graeme wore a Scottish kilt that was passed down to him from his late grandfather,” Laura explains. “We wanted our wedding to really be a reflection of us, which is why every single detail from the cake-cutting song to the horseshoe table numbers was meticulously thought out. It was such a labour of love, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
