An Enchanted Forest Themed Wedding In Old Montreal

Vanessa and Mike met as teenagers and started dating in grade 11. “We waited 10 years before deciding to get married,” the bride shares. Their engagement happened like something out of a rom-com: “We were on a boat on the Amalfi coast when the captain asked if he could take a photo of us. When I turned around to join Mike, he knelt down and asked me to marry him. It was one of the happiest moments of my life."

Their wedding décor was also the stuff of which fairy tales are made, as they had their wedding team create a magical forest inside the Saint-James Theatre (an epic event space in the Edwardian-Baroque-style building of the former Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce). “We wanted it to feel like being outside, with a lot of trees. Our florist, Paul, truly realized our vision of an enchanted forest in a magical setting."

Another detail from the day that Vanessa loved? "The band! They were really awesome! They had the guests dancing all evening. They are very talented and we had a lot of fun!"

Speaking of dancing, the couple’s favourite moment was their first dance “It was as if it were just the two of us sharing this wonderful moment together, surrounded by our close family and friends."
