An Elegant Wedding Inspired By "The Great Gatsby"

For their big day Jennifer and Kirk wanted to create an elegant celebration reminiscent of the glamorous roaring twenties. "I had a vision of The Great Gatsby in my head; my wedding planner took everything I blurted out and made it a reality," says Jennifer.

The couple's springtime celebration began with a traditional Greek church ceremony, which Jennifer says was a highlight of the day. " I’m an only child so walking into the church with my dad was a very special moment for my whole family," explains Jennifer. Seeing Kirk for the first time also left her breathless. "I still get butterflies when I look back at pictures of this moment," she adds.

Jennifer and Kirk's grand wedding reception also did not disappoint. The Westin Hotel Calgary was decked out with shimmering linens, candlelight and towering feather and floral centrepieces. Greek dancers got the party started with a traditional performance and Jennifer and Kirk took to the floor for their first dance to "Once In My Life" by Stevie Wonder and Tony Bennett. "We always talked about this being our wedding song," says Jennifer. "It really describes our love -- there is nothing we wouldn’t do for one another."
