“The theme for our wedding was timeless, while staying true to our personalities,” Melanie says. “But if you ask Joseph, he’ll probably say something different. He loves James Bond—he even wore a tux complete with a bow tie and white suspenders and got a day-of straight shave with his groomsmen,” Melanie laughs. While opting for a classic colour palette of pinks and peaches, the couple incorporated as many aspects of themselves as possible. “I surprised Joseph with the design for our cake topper,” Melanie shares, referring to the custom piece featuring miniature replicas of them wearing curling gear and hockey equipment. Finally, in lieu of speeches, the couple opted for a Twitter-feed projection where guests used the hashtag #jm2013 to connect and converse throughout the night.
