An Elegant Rustic Wedding in Burnaby, British Columbia

For Kayla and Joel, rain almost dampened their rustic wedding day, but fate intervened when the sun came out just as Kayla and her dad were about to walk down the aisle. “The weather had been crazy all day—thunder, lightning, hail and rain—and my bridesmaids and I had our umbrellas ready,” Kayla says. “When my dad and I started walking, the sun came out and was shining behind Joel as I joined him at the altar.” A sunny forecast was just one of the things that made the day special for the couple—Kayla says they both loved the elegant rustic wedding decor and how all the elements of the party came together exactly as they envisioned. “The speeches were another thing that were really special,” Kayla smiles. “Our best man, maid of honour and both sets of parents all spoke, and Joel’s parents even gave me a key to symbolize that I was now a member of the family!”
