An Elegant Rocky Mountain Wedding in Lake Louise

Ryan had a special birthday proposal planned for Ali, but he couldn’t contain his excitement. Two weeks prior to Ali’s birthday, the ring was burning a whole in his pocket and he decided to pop the question, hoping to catch Ali completely off-guard -- and it worked!

Quirky personal touches were weaved throughout the couple's elegant wedding in Lake Louise. As a nod to Ryan’s job as a physicist, the celebration featured a periodic table-themed seating chart and beaker centrepieces. To stay true to the western atmosphere, guests were asked to ring cowbells to encourage the couple to kiss.

The fun atmosphere of this Lake Louise wedding was amplified when the newlyweds hit the dance floor. Their first dance was choreographed to a mash-up of Chantal Kreviazuk's romantic ‘Feels Like Home’ and Katrina and the Waves' upbeat 'Walking on Sunshine.' "We wanted something fun and memorable, also Ryan doesn't typically dance, so it really shocked our guests!" explains Alison.

One of the things most special to the couple about their wedding day was that so many people travelled so far to be with them. "Having so many close family and friends travel out from Ontario, where our hometowns are, to help us celebrate at one of the most spectacular venues in the world was so amazing," says Alison.
