Randy was able to take his childhood love, Jennifer, by complete surprise when he popped the question. While out for dinner one night in Stanley Park, he presented Jennifer with a big shopping bag telling her he had made her something. He began by asking Jennifer which sort of rings she liked. “I didn’t really like talking about it as I wanted to be surprised," she explains. Randy then pulled out a ring size chart and asked if Jennifer would at least tell him her ring size. "I was slightly disappointed that he was taking the romance out of a future proposal by asking, but I realized that he just wanted to be practical,” Jennifer adds. As Jennifer was looking at the sheet of paper, Randy got down on his knees beside her and pulled out a blue Tiffany box and asked, “How about you try on this one?” “He proposed and I said yes! Everyone in the restaurant clapped and the waiters immediately brought out champagne. Afterwards we went ice-skating at Robson Square. It was a perfect night!” says Jennifer.
The couple took a trip to Paris shortly before their engagement, which inspired the theme and pastel colour palette for their big day. Bridesmaids wore pale pink dresses and the bride carried a classic bouquet of violet- and blush-toned roses.
While the couple enjoyed every moment of their celebration, Jennifer says her favourite part of the day occurred when she reached the altar. "Looking at each other while we recited our vows was very moving. We felt very grateful to be standing up there together," she explains.
