An Elegant Multicultural Wedding in Vancouver

Mahshid and James met through work, as they both are in law enforcement. “James was actually posted to my work station during the busy summer months to help out. He worked only few days a week but that was enough!” says Mahshid of their instant connection.

The proposal came on the couple’s four-year anniversary. James and Mahshid were spending their anniversary in Kelowna, the location of one of their first dates. “On our actual anniversary day, James had booked a private vineyard tour of Mission Hill. After our tour, the guide handed both James and I a glass of wine and took us to a courtyard that was closed off to the public. There was a table with two chairs set up overlooking the beautiful hills of the Okanagan Valley. We sat down to enjoy the breathtaking view and that’s when James proposed. There was a loud applause from the terrace above - I hadn’t even noticed the public watching – it was like a scene from the movies!” shares Mahshid.

The couple's late August wedding ceremony and reception radiated classic elegance while blending both Persian and Western traditions. The night felt lavish and regal with sophisticated details, such as opulent chandeliers and stunning floral and crystal centrepieces. The couple also let their personalities shine through – as a nod to their law enforcement jobs, they had gun-wielding cake toppers and a Bourne Identity-style entrance video.
